As you guys should know…the husband will not eat onions of any sort or kind. So I do my best to hide them in foods so that I can still enjoy their flavor. My inspiritaion for this recipe came from Roni’s Simple Onion Turkey Loaf.
Servings: 5 (2 slices)
Points Per Serving: 4
16 oz Lean Ground Turkey (99% fat free if you can)
1 pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix
½ cup Uncooked Oats
½ cup Egg beaters or 2 egg whites
Splash Worcestershire sauce
Salt & Pepper (to taste)
Garlic Powder (to taste)
1 jar Boston Market Gravy (turkey or chicken flavor)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a food processor, mix onion soup mix, oats and other herbs/spices. Grind until smooth. Then mix with turkey, eggs and Worcestershire sauce. Form into loaf and place in an oven safe baking dish that was sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Pour gravy over meatloaf. Place in oven and let bake uncovered for 40 minutes. At this point I noticed my gravy was cooking down so I added about ½-1 cup of hot water to the pan. I cooked until the internal temperature was at least 180 degrees. Slice into 8 slices and serve.

[...] Well I guess now I should make up for not having my stuff posted before now. I have also posted a new recipe that I LOVE. So [...]
Oh wow, sounds super tasty! And great way to hide the onions!
That sounds really good – low calorie and fairly low carb/high protein! I’ve been stuck on making Roni’s Southwest Turkey Burgers recently. (I just put 20 of them in the freezer tonight.) But it would be nice to have something else with turkey that’s a good make-ahead to have on hand.
For a different kick, try mixing in dry ranch dressing mix instead of onion soup mix. I’m sleepy, and don’t have it in front of me so I can’t swear to it, but I don’t think it changes any point values at all, and has a pretty good taste. Couldn’t call it “hide the onion” then though
